Summary
Van Dyke Vineyards is a startup winery located in Hobbs, New Mexico. The husband and wife duo needed guidance in their new venture, and I was ecstatic to take on this challenge with them. Being new to the wine market, their biggest challenge was that they needed to look more established with a high-end look and feel. During the discovery phase, I learned about the owner's blue-collar background, building their success from the ground up - essentially living the American dream. The discovery session and research of the area played a huge part in the look of the logo, from the custom serif typeface created with the concept of hard work to the elegant script concept that mimics the owner's classiness. The logo embodies what their winery is all about.
Deeply rooted in their faith, the owners wanted a tie-in with scripture, and the Pearl of the Plains tagline was born. During the design phase of the wine labels, I used a pearl stock (shimmery but subtle) that pairs well with the tagline, and the bottle stands out on the shelf, catching the consumer's eye.
